Unlikely members of AVALANCHE

A lone figure stood on the rooftop of an old run down building. The night was lit by the numerous glowing lights in the city that he looked upon. A roaming spot light crosses over him, revealing his metallic crimson form. This being was new to the city, only recently arriving in this world on a mission. In his home city, warp manipulation has become common after a few accidents caused the ability to become apparent.

The crimson being lept from the roof, sliding down the vacant side of a building before leaping off to land on another roof some distance away. His mission was to locate a resistance movement against the large corporation based in this city, the city of Midgar. The very essence of the planet was being misused. With the warp manipulation becoming avalible, a certain virus might have used the same method and this virus must be wiped out. "These delays are not welcomed at all. I am running out of time, I must locate this resistance leader.."

Along the streets below the crimson warrior, Ellis and Nick ran along the streets, their pistols in hand, fleeing from two robots that had been built for protection. "Damn it Ellis, where the hell are we??" Nick asked as he spun around and shot at one of the robots. "Who cares, just run, man!" He said as he grabbed Nick's arm, pulling him into a nearby alley.

The two men rest their backs on the wall, they're hands on they're knees, breathing heavily. "I.. don't quite think.. we lost them.." Nick informed Ellis as he looked over towards the alley's entrance, seeing the robots surveying the alley. "Sh*t man, I can't keep runnin' like this.." Ellis said, still breathing hard from the running.

"..! Tshk..! What are those two doing, bringing bots down here!" He gritted his teeth, clenching a gloved fist tightly. The Hunter slammed his fist down on the tin roof he was standing on as he crouched, causing quite the racket, the two bots looking up at the noise, shoulder mounted spotlights now shining into the sky. He grinned now, the lack of excitement the last few days had gotten to him, perhaps this burst of combat could give him the fix he needed.

Kicking off from the roof, he rose into the air. The spotlight caught up to him, giving the two men a brief look at the crimson and gold figure that now decended upon the two mechanical guards. Reaching over his shoulder, he gripped the helt of his weapon, preparing to strike. Once his feet met the ground with a metallic thud and the sound of replying gyros, he drew his blade, the green energy lighting the trio before the light quickly vanish with the sheathing of the saber, the two bots falling apart a moment after.

Ellis and Nick, shocked at what they had witnessed, immediately laid the pistols they held into their holsters, watching the bots fall apart. "The hell was that?" Ellis asked as he walked towards the robots, examining them closely. "Who cares." Nick said as he walked towards the end of the alley, peeking outside. "Let's just find a way out of here, and fast.." He said as he continued walking out. Ellis immediately ran out after Nick as the two of them looked around, trying to find some sort of vehicle to use. "Well looks like we're walkin'.." Ellis said, unable to find any type of vehicle. "Wonder who that was that helped us back there.."

The two of the men scanned the area for other people or robots, but found neither as they scavenged through the land. "This place seems like a giant dump t'me.." He said as he searched through a pile of rubble. "Ghost town.. not a soul in sight." Nick replied as he too started searching through another pile. "Still.. I wonder where we are.. Hello?? Anyone out there?" Nick shouted.

A figure came up from the darkness behind Nick, cupping a large hand over his mouth. "Be quiet." He let go of the man, stepping back into the shadows. The dark profile was the same as the being who had saved them just moments ago. "Identify yourselves. No one who has been here long enough would have going around behaving as you two are. Drawing much unneeded attention to the slums." He sighed, crossing his arms in front of the his chest, turning his head to glance between the two as he waited for their answer.

Dodging spot lights had become a bit annoying, but, luckily, events in his past life had trained him for such a situation. The blue reploid gracefully skirted between buildings and across rooftops evading the tireless eyes. Zero had gotten ahead of him seeking out members of a resistance called AVALANCHE. X had not though much of it, but it seemed Zero knew something and X had learned to trust Zero's instincts.

Coming across Zero's signature on radar, X approached his location. Discovering, much to his surprise, two humans were with his crimson friend, X took a moment to contemplate the scenario. Trying to be discrete, X circled around and came up to the group from behind. X kept himself hid in the shadows, standing in back of Zero.

"Are these them?"

Ellis and Nick both stood, relatively shook up. "Well uh.. Hell, I'm Nick.. and this is Ellis." Nick said as he pointed to Ellis who then smiled nervously. "And uh.. whoever you're looking for, I don't think it's us.. We haven't been here for more than a few hours. Where are we, anyway? And further on the subject, who are you?" Nick asked.

Ellis, who stood just behind Nick, did nothing but stare at the crimson warrior and tipped his hat a bit. "So what exactly's yer guys' deal?"

Shook his head slowly, looking at the two with faintly glowing green eyes. "I am no one of consequence. You two are already messing with the wrong people here. I would suggest laying low. Come with my partner and I; we are looking for a few people." He looked back at the blue reploid on the shadows behind him. "No, these are two new arrivals. We continue our search now that you have caught up." He turned slightly, placing a large hand on his partner's shoulder. "Good to see you made it, so skillfully too." The crimson Hunter let go of his friend and moved to the end of the ally, peaking out to make sure one else had followed.

"Just like old times, right?" X replied to Zero with a faint smile on his face. X looked at the two humans a little suspiciously, but he welcomed their presence anyways. "You two look about as out of place as we usually are." Glancing from Nick to Ellis.

"Well there's been a lot of 'warping' issues lately in the area and we have a feeling that this Shinra company might have something to do with it, so we're looking for some guys that might be able to give them trouble."
