History: Yuna has used the move before but this time it has the force of electricity behind the metal thingies? She first discovered it while moving through Thunder Plains back in spira with her friends.(As fate would have it) She tripped on a small stone and her weapons slipped out of her hands,stopping near a thunder rod.At the very same moment,Lighting struck down with such force,a small,stray spark had somehow managed to land on the firearms.since then,the bullets that she had loaded and fired had the small additional effect.

Just to be clear...Is a weapon only allowed one particular range?

No, if it can be used in more than one range thats fine.
